“TRAINING” The heart of improving performance. Brilliant morning with brilliant people pretty much sums up this morning training on the Gold Coast with Pest industry guru Peter Ambrose-Pearce and Dale from Syngenta. It maybe a known fact that most business to business long term relationships provide a win win, however today’s training provided so much more value for us at TPC.
Looking for a Termite inspection or termite barrier to protect the home is part of your research, however looking for a company striving for excellence in Termite and Pest management is the real winner. Looking for a termite company that is going to be around for at least 5- 8 years being the life expectancy of chemicals on the market is essential. Choose a company who has 18 years experience and credibility in the market. We are not only good inspectors, we are good people.
My journey to achieving the MBA is one for the Pesties; being a part of the pest industry for 18 years is something to be proud of, as we all know it’s not the highest level of education required to become a pest management technician nor does it attract world-class leaders, however it provides the same challenges and competitiveness like every other industry that helps drive performance to a new level, this is what excites me.
It is my passion, the acceptance of change and perseverance that will help change an industry standard. We must attract dedicated and committed people to be a part of the pest… Read more
Building and Pest Inspections locate timber decay fungi (Wood Rot) and water damage in the roof void.
Timber will rot if it is consistently wet over a period of time, even the smallest of leaks will cause damage.

Live termites located in an Exterra Interception and Baiting system may sound threatening to the home as this station is only a few meters from the exterior wall. The situation here is – Termite is consistently foraging underground looking for moisture and food and a great place to go for a meal is a home built from timber. The termite interception station that has been placed every three meters surrounding the home has picked up live termites before they get to the home and attack it. The station placement is perfectly executed by picking up the termites “prior the attack” so the bait … Read more

Termite physical barriers on the perimeter of a brick veneer home like the one in the video below must be left exposed above ground level to ensure visual termite inspections can be carried out by an expert and regularly by the owner.
Covering a physical barrier inspection zone with anything will render the barrier ineffective. If you cannot inspect the inspection zone (being the product line that protrudes to the outer edge of the home) then it is most likely you will get termites attacking your home.
A physical barrier is designed to prevent concealed entry only, the barrier is designed to force… Read more
A termite Microcerotermes ground mound (Nest) found in a backyard building above rocks and pavers. Many people believe termites only travel over timber or up through timbers, however, this is completely incorrect, they even travel over steel and treated timber to get to food and moisture, they are unpredictable and fearless.
This termite colony has not only worked its way through the rocks it has formed up and through the pavers installed on the ground. Microcerotermes are said to be a little slower than other Subterranean termites like Coptotermes species that destroy homes rapidly.

During a routine termite inspection, The Pest Company’s Licensed Termite Inspector located live schedorhinotermes working with the termite leads of Nasutitermes. It’s not unlikely to come across a new infestation in a similar area that was once attacked. The reason the termites are back in is due to the property not having a termite management system installed to protect against an attack. Termite entry points are like highways, once the road is built, we use it frequently and so do termites.
On this occasion, a live termite treatment will take place using Termidor and a foaming agent and… Read more
