How to Determine the Termite Entry Point

March 4, 2018 By Luke Taylor

Homeowners loving the growth in the Real Estate market as Termites destroy the profits. Finding a termite entry point is never an easy job, however, on this occasion, the subfloor is a great place to start. During a routine inspection, live termites were located on the subfloor, the issues here relate to the home having no termite protection.

This home was chemically treated during construction, however, the chemical is no longer in place, leaving the home open for an attack.

Termites can be seen traveling up a wall like a video shows, but not many homeowners find them quick enough, as termites damage homes fast. Did you know Termites will also travel inside the brickwork and may not even be seen till the damages appear inside?

Homeowners should be keeping a close eye on their investment “I’m saying that’s weekly” looking for termite leads,
especially if the home has no termite protection (remember the lead can be miniature like a fingernail compared to the leads shown in the video)

The ongoing issues are, homeowners simply don’t crawl underneath the home to check subfloor areas and why would they, as most subfloors are dark, dirty and hard work crawling around looking for termites, and besides the obvious, get an expert to do it for you.
